ABOUT ME
First, and perhaps most importantly, let's talk about my dog: I'm blessed to enjoy life with a silly and wonderful little Italian greyhound named Sammy! I work primarily to support his very lucrative lifestyle of daily salmon chews, cute sweaters, and comically oversized doggy beds.
Steph @ Work
I'm a professional technical communicator with a passion for making the complexities of tech and science accessible to all. I specialize in writing clear, engaging, and authentic content that guides, informs, and even tells a story—when the genre allows! I also believe in the power of embracing change and pushing continuous self-development. I keep adaptability at the forefront of my professional ideals. Whether it's experimenting with new software, tools, and techniques or refining how we present complex information, I'm always looking for new ways to drive progress, advocacy, and efficiency in the technical communication space.
Steph @ School
I earned a Master of Science in Technical Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, so my background is quite tech-heavy. I interned as a software engineer, where I designed and developed user interfaces for ground control station software used by large commercial drones. ✈
Steph @ Play
I'm a Canadian-born American West Coaster who loves exploring the lesser-known corners of America's interior. Paradoxically, I also enjoy nothing more than staying cooped in my house with a warm blanket, a dog on my lap, and a great book or videogame. When I'm not hiking a trail or having a lie-in, you can typically find me expressing myself creatively—be that with writing, drawing, crocheting, coding, or something else I've decided to try! Some of my favorite things, in no particular order, include:
- Birds and other small creatures
- Games—including videogames, board games, and card games
- Rain, snow, and generally dreary weather
- Momos with chutney
- Everyday adventures
